Wind Resistance 2/3
Part of a larger body of work, made as part of an ongoing residency - www.auraltextiles.com.
This residency explores the use of sounds gathered from landscape within scottish contemporary craft and design. The residency researches attunement to place, and the use of data driven influences within creative practices.
This piece explores sounds recorded from the landscape of Lewis, in the Scottish Hebrides. Hand painted silk and machine embroidery represent the mapping of wind recordings made, looking out to sea. Here, the wind has picked up, whipping the waves, the wind turning to white noise.
